The São Paulo International Art FairSP-Arte, returns from the 2nd to the 6th of April 2014 for its 10th year as one of the Latin America’s leading international contemporary art fair.
Featuring 136 of the best Brazilian and international galleries from 18 countries across the globe, SP-Arte/2014 includes 78 Brazilian galleries and 58 international galleries, while introducing a distinctive programme of cultural and educational events, a new exhibitor sector, “Solo”, curated by Rodrigo Moura and shows a number of emerging galleries for the first time.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Fernanda Feitosa, the main sector of the fair, housed on the first and second floors of Oscar Niemeyer’s Biennial Pavilion brings together work by the best Brazilian and international artists. In addition SP-Arte presents innovative cultural and educational programmes unique to the fair which includes “Curatorial Lab”, “Dialogues” and the “Editorial Cluster”.
During SP-Arte, the city of São Paulo is transformed by special programming in museums such as Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo as well as cultural centres and galleries. SP-Arte Week also brings special opportunities for visitors to gain exclusive access to collectors’ homes and artists’ studios, making SP-Arte an important moment to experience culture in the city.
