Design District

December 5 is the Design District day: many shows are opening while many others are hosting special events and receptions in every corner and every venue. The chic neighborhood full of design shops is transformed into a unique art location.

The Craig Robins Collection offers tours and breakfast from 9am; de la Cruz collection offers free entry and a coffee break daily during Basel days. Design Miami, the global forum for design, holds a breakfast (by invitation only) and two talks between well known figures in the field:
3-4pm | Formlessfinder in conversation with Zoë Ryan
6-7pm | Muriel Brandolini in conversation with Margaret Russell

Holly Hunt Showroom shows artists’ works from around the world. This section contains artist biographies and images of their work. Don’t miss the Elle Décor Panel Discussion moderated by Michael Boodro (Editor in Chief, Elle Décor) w/ Craig Robins, Holly Hunt, Ty Best (Designer of Caste):

“Quentin Shih’s Moving Theater” is a dramatic exploration of urban culture and cultural juxtaposition in the form of elegant tableau-like photo compositions. Come and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres at Art Lexing (4025 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami).

Adamar Fine Arts presents an exhibition of over 20 works featuring the most notable Pop artists and masters of contemporary art.

Inventory 04: Time is a multidisciplinary exhibit combining a broad range of design mediums. The exhibition will explore the concept of Time, combining a broad range of design mediums.

Kartell and Laufen, together with Wallpaper*, will host an event at Kartell’s Miami showroom to celebrate the US launch of the Kartell by Laufen bathroom project, designed by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba.
